What happens next?

Subject to your feedback and onward engagement with the local planning authority and other stakeholders, the College hopes to submit a planning application in early 2025.

 

With a positive and swift planning decision, the College could complete both projects by September 2027.

 

In the last 15 years, Brighton College has completed a number of construction projects and we appreciate this has caused some local disruption.

 

This has, however, both improved the built environment of the conservation area and enabled us to move forward with genuinely sustainable buildings.​

​To ensure good communications with our neighbours, a year ago, the College asked one of our senior teachers to take on the role of Community Liaison Officer, who liaises with the local business forum and has set up a Community Liaison Group for general interaction between the College and our neighbours. ​We welcome new members to that forum. We hope this will also provide a forum for communication between the College and its neighbours during the project.

 

The College is committed to trying to mitigate disruption during the project and will prepare a Construction Management Plan. We hope the duration of the project programme will be short and would aim to conclude it by September 2027.
